Denny's? More like Donty's

Per the Super Bowl commercial, Denny's gave away a free grand slam breakfast to anyone who graced them with their presence between 6am and 2pm today. Still, no one darkened the door of a Denny's. Does that tell you something? LONG LIVE WAFFLE HOUSE!!!!!!

we passed a million waffle houses on our trip and didn't stop at a single one. somehow i think my life, now, is incomplete - as well as extended.

hey! what's the criteria for becoming tetris champ? is it points, lines or levels. last night, at "work", i got 152,132 points on my ipod (but only level 10). will e-mail you my pick (as i am a lib and CANNOT be trusted)

We are doing the tetris competition by lines and level. The game we are using is linked on the side of the blog. That is the only way to standardize everything since all Tetris games are different (152000 points would be much more than level 10 on our game by the way). We can trust you as a lib so the picture is not necessary. What we can't trust libs with is our money. Smart move to pass by all the Waffle Houses. Your life will truly be blessed.

um, we got our free grand slam breakfasts. dad tried to get his but the wait was too long. i ahve to say i was very impressed with their organizationa and speed. however, the breakfast didn't quite look as good as the one you have advertised on your blog. oh well. free is free is free and it was good.

The Denny's I visited yesterday were packed. Apparently one cannot pass up Free, fifty, free.

And in response to a couple of references on this blog that dare to question the beauty, deliciousness and simplicity of "Le House" please stop immediately!

Tait Family, it sounds like you need to go back to Econ 101. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Opportunity Cost. Heard of that? Look into it. You, my friend, paid for that breakfast. Anonymous, no one is questioning the greatness of Le House, but let us not kid ourselves into thinking that place is not killing us. But, we enjoy it anyway

explain how i paid for it? i'm confused. came in, sat down, ate, left. end of story. no payment involved.

Gas to get there. Your time is valuable. What could have been accomplished with that time? Wear and tear on your vehicles and other child gear. Maybe you got upset stomach after eating Denny's. The Pepto costs money. See, nothing is free. But the main cost is your time. You SPENT your time, which is undoubtedly more valuable than the $5 you saved on the "free" meal, to sit at that restaurant. You could have done something else and been productive and accomplished something. That is the cost of the meal. Econ 101. Opportunity cost. Google it. Kevin Jensen out.

My time is valuable and therefore I would have to tell you that I still paid nothing. With my precious time I got to eat this lovely breakfast with the most handsome men in my life - Kerry and Gavin. Quality time, eating a free.99 meal. FREE! FREEconomics. Google it. I'm out!

honestly, i just think that you are jealous that you didn't get a free meal.

Uh Oh. The plot thickens. This meal was more expensive than even I thought. Kerry was there? The same Kerry that is the breadwinner for the family? On a Tuesday? If he had used that hour at Denny's to clean carpet, he could have made $100. If he used it to clean travertine, it could have been closer to $1000. If he used it networking, he could have found one future raving fan that could be worth over $10,000 in the next few years. With Kerry's presence this meal just exploded in cost. So, best case scenario, this meal cost you $100 and it could have cost you literally thousands. But, instead of making that money, Kerry was with the fam. That is a GREAT thing, don't get me wrong. But, the meal was NOT free 99 or free 50 free. Time is money. It is true what all the economists say (yes, all of them): "there is no such thing as a free lunch". (or breakfast)
