Normally, I don't like going to Texas Rangers games in the summer because it is too blasted hot. But, this year, Nolan Ryan and the genius that is his executive style has remedied that problem for the fans. See, it wasn't just me not going to games because of the unbearable heat. At any given game, the attendance would only fill up about half the stadium. So, he brought in a fan to provide a nice breeze for the fans while they soak up a little sun and a little baseball. The fan is named Chris "Crash" Davis.
169 AB, 32 Hits, 78 strikeouts. That is a .189 batting average and a .462 strikeout average. He is on pace to crush the major league record for strikeouts in a season set way back in 2008. Nice solution Nolan. Off to the ballpark I go (well, after they come back to town with their tail between their legs after this AL East road trip - welcome to real baseball Rangers).
Uh, Mr. Davis, you are not fooling anyone by glancing toward the outfield after a swing. We all know the ball is in the catcher's mitt.

that was a long set up for a short punch line, but I still liked it. Nobody dares coming messing around the east coast, especially the Beast of the East those mighty rays!
Never count those pesky Rangers out. The last place Rays will be no problem. We just need to learn from Cleveland how to cool down those red-hot bats in Tampa
